1. Information We Collect

To provide and improve our core AI comment generation services, Comment Arena collects the minimum amount of information necessary:

- Email Address: We require your email address solely to authenticate your account and to track your available AI generation credits (e.g., free trial limits).

- Website Content (Contextual Data): When you trigger the AI to generate a comment, our extension reads the text content of the specific social media post (on platforms like X, Reddit, Threads, YouTube, or Facebook) you are viewing. This text is sent securely to our AI providers to generate a context-aware reply. 

2. How We Use Your Information

- To operate and maintain the extension's functionality.

- To track usage limits and trial quotas tied to your email.

- To generate relevant PRO or CONTRA replies based on the contextual data of the posts you select.

3. Data Storage and Retention

- Your email address and basic settings/preferences are stored locally on your device's browser using Chrome Storage API.

- We do NOT store, log, or save the website content (messages, posts, or generated replies) on our servers after the AI generation process is complete. 

- We do NOT track your overall web browsing history or user activity outside of the specific posts you choose to engage with using Comment Arena.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your Personally Identifiable Information (email address) to outside parties. 

The specific 'Website Content' (the post you want to reply to) is shared temporarily and securely with our designated backend AI service (e.g., OpenAI or similar APIs) strictly for the purpose of generating the reply text. 

5. Security

We implement a variety of security measures, including secure API endpoints (via Google Apps Script), to maintain the safety of your personal information.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
